Dead Men's Hollow joins Jerry Garcia and David Grisman at Arlington Cinema 'n Drafthouse through the magic of celluloid on Thursday, November 16th at 7:30PM. A screening of the film "Grateful Dawg" follows a live performance by Dead Men's Hollow.
Dead Men's Hollow is fronted by three-part female harmonies backed by fiddle, upright bass, and guitar. The group
weaves its signature sound from traditional American old-time, bluegrass, southern gospel and country blues music. In February the group won three 2005 Washington Area Music Association "Wammie" awards for Best Bluegrass Duo/Group, Best Bluegrass Recording, and Best Debut Recording (across all genres).
"Grateful Dawg" documents the musical collaboration of Jerry Garcia and David Grisman as they explore America's acoustic musical traditions. The film was directed by Grisman's daughter, Gillian, and includes live performances and rare interviews. Fans of Old & In the Way should not miss this intimate, behind-the-scenes look at their unique musical partnership.
