Field of Dreams (1989) is a fantasy-drama about Ray Kinsella (Kevin Costner), an Iowa farmer who hears a mysterious voice telling him, "If you build it, he will come". He builds a baseball diamond in his cornfield, attracting the ghosts of Shoeless Joe Jackson and the 1919 Chicago Black Sox, leading to a journey of reconciliation, faith, and second chances.

BRIAN E. FRANKISH

BRIAN E. FRANKISH (Producer) has been producing feature films for over fifty years. He has produced such blockbusters as “Field Of Dreams” and Showtime’s award winning “Crown Heights” as well as “Flight Of The Intruder,” the critically acclaimed “American Me” and “The Boy Who Could Fly.” In addition, Frankish executive produced “Home Of The Brave,” starring Samuel L. Jackson, and “Life As A House” with Kevin Kline. He was Line Producer on “Righteous Kill,” starring Robert De Niro and Al Pacino and the Associate Producer on “The Crazies.” Most recently, he produced “So Undercover,” starring Miley Cyrus, in New Orleans.


Starting as a production assistant on Woody Allen’s “Play It Again Sam,” Frankish worked his way up the ranks of film production. As a production manager, Frankish oversaw such features as Dino DeLaurentiis’ “King Kong,” “The Net,” and “In The Mood,” to name a few. As first assistant director, Frankish is responsible for the fifteen cameras that shot the infamous train crash for “The Fugitive,” starring Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones, as well as “Strange Brew” and “Demolition Man.”
Frankish produced the groundbreaking, Emmy Award-winning ABC series “Max Headroom” and he produced the visual effects for “Turbulence.” Other credits include working as first A.D. on “Brainstorm,” “The Last Starfighter,” and serving as Associate Producer and production manager on “Stuart Little.”
In 2021 Frankish was the recipient of Director’s Guild’s “Frank Capra Achievement Award” for his work with the guild and his many credits in the film business. Other awards include the Humanitus Prize for Showtime’s “Crown Heights” and the Christopher Award for “Field of Dreams.”
Graduating from San Francisco State with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theater, Frankish is a member of the Directors Guild of America where he is co-chair of the Visual Effects/Digital Technologies Committee, Screen Actors Guild and Producers Guild. He and his actress/screenwriter wife, Tannis Benedict, live in Westlake Village, California.
